What is the charitable cause you are most passionate about and why?

I was married to my husband for 12 years. For most of that 12 years he was extremely verbally/mentally/emotionally abusive to both me and my daughter. If he got angry enough he would turn it to physical violence. For a long time I didn't think I could get help from anyone because it wasn't always physical. I finally got the courage to speak up to a sheriff that came to the house for an unrelated incident. He notified CPS that there may be a domestic violence situation, and a caseworker came to the house a few days later. I was so happy. I finally regained my Independence and got myself and my daughter away from the toxicity of my marriage. After leaving, I still battled the verbal abuse daily until I filed for divorce and a protective order. Today I still struggle with the PTSD and anxiety from the abuse, but I still try to be as strong as I can be for my daughter. Domestic violence is a terrible thing, and now that I have survived it, I feel it's my time to give back an advocate for other victims as much as I can.

Why do you give through the CFC?

This is such an easy way for me to give I don't have to worry about if I can afford to donate or not because it comes out of my check before I even get it. The convenience of it is what encouraged me to sign up through CFC.

How do contributions through the CFC help your cause?

By helping other victims like myself overcome domestic violence.
