COVID-19 response by the Regional Food Bank

Food Distribution

The COVID-19 pandemic and extreme economic challenges has brought about an unprecedented need for food assistance in the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's 53 county service area. The organization's network of partners in central and western Oklahoma have reported a 30% increase in new clients during the pandemic. To address this need, new and innovative methods have been implemented to respond accounting for safety and for those high risk individuals. In April alone, the Regional Food Bank distributed 6.2 million pounds of food to its network. A record amount for the organization which on average distributes 4.7 million pounds a month. Between March 23rd and the end of the fiscal year on June 30th, the Regional Food Bank distributed more than 16 million pounds of food to Oklahomans facing food insecurity. As the pandemic and resulting economic issues continue, please help us continue to provide for our neighbors in this difficult time.
