I learned that I'm Unstoppable!

GOTRCMD Spring 22 5K

My name is Lucy. When I started Girls on the Run, I was scared when I heard we would be running 3 miles at the end of the season! My coaches helped me set small goals throughout the season and showed me that it didn't matter how fast I ran, as long as I kept moving forward. I ran a little more at every practice and I learned how to stand up for myself, manage stress, be a good friend, and speak to myself with kind words! After 10 weeks of training, I was ready for the 5K! My friends on the team encouraged me when I got tired on the course and I had to walk some, but I made it across the finish line and got my medal. It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I am really proud of myself. Now I know that I can do hard things - if I can run a 5K, I can accomplish anything!
