Making the Residents Happy

Sharing a Smile with an Elderly Resident

The Little Sisters of the Poor's foundress Saint Jeanne Jugan often stated that "Making the Residents Happy--that's what matters!" Since arriving in Pittsburgh 150 years ago, the Sisters, their staff and volunteers have strived to make each elderly person in their care as happy as possible. This photo of a Little Sister with a dear Resident over the age of 100 certainly exudes happiness. From the every day care to the activities and outings to the personal attention, the Little Sisters make sure their mission of caring for the elderly person in the nursing home and independent living apartments includes as much happiness as possible for the Resident during their twilight years. It is only through the generosity of others that the Sisters can continue this mission. Donations like those received through the CFC are vital to the work of this Home. Help us to continue to put smiles on the faces of our elderly Residents and make them happy!
