Thank you to our Veteran Volunteers who continue to serve their community.

Meet Jim, a Veteran Serving his Community!

Throughout our 5-county service area, we come across some of the most giving people who are connected to Central California Food Bank's mission.

Meet Jim, a veteran, who volunteers at the Hanford Salvation Army's monthly Neighborhood Market. Jim has been volunteering in Kings County for many years and feels a great responsibility to give back to the Salvation Army because of the resources they provide to the people of Hanford and veterans such as himself.

"People go hungry in our own backyard, you don't have to travel to a third-world country to see hunger," he passionately explains.

At Central California Food Bank, many of our partner agencies are run by incredible volunteers who tirelessly donate their time to help feed our neighbors in need. We could not serve the one-in-four individuals suffering from food insecurity and feed over 350,000 neighbors every single month without the support of volunteers like Jim - they are the heart of what we do.
