Daughter of retired Army Sergeant Brian Gifford, Sarah Gifford, is a proud 2020 and 2022 scholarship recipient. She spoke very highly of the Foundation during their fall luncheon. In 2020, Sarah received the 1st Lieutenant Carl B. McGee Memorial Scholarship, followed by the AUSA North Texas Audie Murphy Chapter Honorary Scholarship in 2022.

The financial support she received from the 1st Lieutenant Carl B. McGee Memorial Scholarship
helped to provide the support she needed to pursue her degree, develop skills, and build connections for her future career as an HR professional.

At The University of Texas at Dallas, she took on three student organization leadership roles,
completed 140 volunteering hours, and placed in five school-level, state, and national business competitions.

Sarah majored in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resource Management. During her college career, Sarah maintained straight A’s, worked several jobs, served as a leader for multiple student organizations, and has won academic awards on the school, state, and national level.

Scholarship funding gave her flexibility to engage in her student community, ultimately bolstering her resume to provide a way out of poverty.

Sarah began a full-time position in HR at Texas Instruments, thanks to the generous support of her scholarship donors.

I support Army Scholarship Foundation because they take care of the children of the military and give them the opportunity to go to college
I know that there are many charities out there, but ours Is unique in that there is no paid staff, and it is entirely run by volunteers in a passion for what they are doing and wanting to help our military families.
