Camaraderie Foundation

I am a combat veteran.
I've served in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
My first deployment was from 2007 to 2009.
And what I would say is, when I came home, it was obvious that I wasn't the same person that I was when I left.
And it really affected me, my family, my wife, my kids.
Unfortunately, I chose to suffer in silence for many years because of, you know, my ego, my pride, fear, what it would do to my career, and I went and got help.
But probably in 2020 was really when I would say I was at the height of my dark season, where it just got really bad and I was dealing with suicidal thoughts and really was not in a good place.
So, I chose to go get help and I walked into a counselor’s office one and he asked me if I had ever heard of the Camaraderie Foundation.
And I said, no, I haven’t.
He gave me some literature and sent me to the website, and I got on their website and filled out the application.
And I’m happy to report that the Camaraderie Foundation was able to be a resource not only for me, bur also for my wife and my family.
