Kyler is 15 years old. He loves going to football games with his dad and competing in archery for Arizona Disabled Sports. He collects and customizes Hot Wheels with unique paint jobs, interiors, wheels, and 3D printed parts he makes on his own! When he grows up, he wants to run his own custom car shop.
For the past three years, Kyler has participated in clinical trials for Biomotum, a startup in CPARF’s inaugural Remarkable US cohort. This accelerator aims to quickly bring assistive technology to market, addressing the significant needs of an underfunded industry that supports over one billion disabled people worldwide.
Biomotum’s SPARK device is a wearable exoskeleton that enhances mobility for children and adults with cerebral palsy (CP) and other disabilities. During the trials, Kyler’s strength and endurance improved during the SPARK trials and his confidence skyrocketed. Now he plays basketball, lifts weights, and loves moving his body. His cerebral palsy still affects him in the way it always has, but now he's willing to try new things. He's willing to work through something that may feel uncomfortable so that he can get better and stronger. This is what your generosity can do. You can help kids like Kyler discover a world full of possibilities.
Through the Remarkable US program, CPARF increases access to life-changing assistive technologies for people with disabilities in clinical settings and homes. CPARF also funds cutting-edge research to improve treatment outcomes for children and adults with CP and other disabilities, offers community education, and fosters collaboration across a 30 member hospital network across the US.
