As you choose among many worthy causes presented by the Combined Federal Campaign, we hope that you will support The FedChoice Charitable Foundation (CFC #80218)! Our Foundation was re-launched on April 20, 2023, and since then, we have been on a mission to empower young minds in local underserved communities with the most valuable lesson of all – financial literacy.
Imagine hearing this from a young mother: “Your Foundation is doing such an amazing job! I wish I had the same financial literacy classes when I was the same age as my kid now… Thank you for helping him learn about money!”
Or if your favorite teacher confided: “The Teachers’ Aid Program grant helped me fill my classroom shelves with new books and reading materials…this will make a real difference to our children!”
To make a real impact, we partnered with local elementary and middle schools to introduce valuable financial literacy lessons to young people. Over seventy third graders from Cora Rice Elementary School have discovered the power of saving, igniting dreams that money can grow when saved and invested wisely. Their curiosity blossomed as they stepped into FedChoice Federal Credit Union, learning that credit unions are more than just banks – they’re a community!
We didn’t stop there and launched three Millionaires’ Clubs, powerful personal finance programs developed by the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and DC, that are now helping students in middle and high schools in Washington DC and Maryland, shaping future financial professionals and savvy entrepreneurs. Educators from the K through 12 schools in the Greater Washington DC area were empowered with small educators’ grants to fuel their passion for teaching, because when we invest in our teachers, we invest in our children’s future.
Our educational scholarships turn dreams into degrees. This year, together with our key partner Blacks In Government, we’ve launched our new scholarship program to help boost career pathways of ten young people in low-income areas nationwide. We celebrated our first anniversary back where it all began - Cora Rice Elementary School - focusing on saving and budgeting, because financial wisdom is the gift that keeps on giving.
As we continue our work to help young people and their families, we want to boldly state: your generous support has transformed the lives of many young people and their families in local underserved communities. Even more, your contributions have extended far beyond donations. Many of you have volunteered, partnered with us, and ignited hope and opportunity. Your actions truly speak louder than words – thank you!
Today we ask you to contribute to CFC and choose #80218 to help us build new programs and support more communities. Your generous donation is an investment in the future of our children and the prosperity of our local communities. Together, we can continue to transform lives! Will you be a part of this change?
