Friends of Arlington's David M. Brown Planetarium
This shows three students walking into the planetarium, talking about how FOAP was founded and what we do and inviting viewers to support us and come see a show!
Transcript: Hello. We are the Friends of Arlington Planetarium. Our organization was founded in 2010 by community members in order to prevent the planetarium from closing down to the public. We are based out of the David M. Brown Planetarium in Arlington, VA. One weekend a month we borrow the planetarium, which is owned by the county, to run educational shows for the public. The entire program is run by volunteer board members who are passionate about the planetarium. Recently we have started a student volunteering program, where students from local high schools help run the planetarium programming, events, and newsletter. The money raised by the planetarium goes towards funding STEM scholarships for high schoolers, graduates, and teachers, and getting supplies for the shows. Thank you for considering donating to the Friends of Arlington Planetarium and we hope you can stop by for a show!
