Our last year has been a testament to the unwavering dedication of our staff. We are celebrating one of the biggest successes we have seen as an organization where our Bee-Friendly Retailer work is involved!

Our Bee-Friendly Retailer Campaign has moved 13 of the top 25 largest food retailers to establish pollinator protection policies. In our most recent victory, The Kroger Company became the latest major U.S. grocery to announce its commitment to reducing the use of toxic pesticides in its fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain. As one of the nation's four largest food retailers, with more than 2,700 stores, Kroger's commitment is expected to positively impact pollinators, soil health, and people in communities across the country. This achievement was years in the making and represents a potential shift in the food retail sector. Kroger’s policy follows Whole Foods, which announced a pesticide policy in December 2023, as well as Walmart and Giant Eagle. Our Bee Friendly Retailer Campaign influenced these policies. Kroger is now the 13th major U.S. food retailer to adopt such a commitment.
