Transportation is the second-largest source of global CO2 emissions, contributing nearly 25% to the climate crisis. The ICCT has dedicated more than 20 years to driving global change by advancing cleaner, sustainable technologies and supporting equitable policies that reduce emissions and improve air quality. We envision a future where leaders around the globe use the ICCT’s expert research and technical support to develop ambitious, coordinated policies to eliminate air and climate pollution from transportation, consistent with limiting warming to well-below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C this century. Our work spans road, marine, and air transport, making significant global impacts—like our pivotal role in “Dieselgate,” the 2015 Volkswagen emissions scandal.
With donor support, ICCT works to advance a healthier, equitable, and cleaner transportation future. Together, we can eliminate air and climate pollution, limit global warming and create sustainable transportation solutions across the globe.
