Veterans on Deck

Veterans on Deck provides sailing opportunities for veterans and active-duty military that suffer from PTSD and other emotional issues. We also invite veterans that have physical disabilities. Hi, I'm Paul Jacques. I'm the president of Veterans on Deck. Right across the street is the VA Medical Center. The psychologists, the counselors, and therapists refer veterans to come sail with us. We expect to have 200 sailing excursions in 2024, providing 1,000 sailing experiences. We acquired this J/105. It can accommodate six veterans, and then we have the captain and the first mate. We named it DD-214. The other thing is the boat is suited for racing. We've developed a team that are really benefiting from the excitement of being out there competing.
