Wherever in the world WCK responds, one thing remains constant - the power of community. We witness the best of humanity showing up to support one another in otherwise dark times. WCK looks to local communities to lead and guide our response because we understand that locals know best. Our efforts are made possible because of the help and expertise of local leaders who share culinary and cultural preferences, cook and serve their neighbors alongside us, inform how to navigate disaster-stricken terrain, identify pockets of need, and so much more. Community is our superpower, everyone ends up helping out and supporting WCK’s response. As our Founder, José Andrés says, “Everyone is a part of WCK, they just don’t know it yet”.

That's where I communicate with my team, who communicates with our kitchen to understand how many meals we're going to be making every single day and that number often grows exponentially.
All of these trays and all of these Cambros are about to be labeled with over 85 unique orders that we have going out just on this day alone.
These Cambro units, they keep it piping hot. The trays are loaded up, they feed about 30 people - each tray.
Today we happen to have a really nice robust penne pasta with meatballs, beautiful vegetables are in here. Big pieces of carrots are in this pasta. We make sure then that they've got sandwiches. Our sandwiches are ham and cheese sandwiches we will send out in droves, too. Fruit, and then water. And then all of the cutlery and the boats that they need to be able to eat that at home.
