The 2023 Wounded Warriors in Action Safety Symposium is funded and sanctioned by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and focuses on safety in the field as well as adaptive sporting techniques. This event provided ten WWIA Guides the opportunity to further advance their skill set and to receive the most current and up-to-date safety training and standards. This will assist them in leading their fellow combat-wounded Heroes on WWIA events and help facilitate our Hosts in ensuring that every WWIA event is a safe and enjoyable experience. This all-expense paid 6-day course took place July 6-11, 2023 at WWIA’s Northern Healing Center, Camp Hackett, in Phillips, Wisconsin.

Wounded Warriors in Action- Honor. Connect. Heal.
Transcript

We are a national 501 (c) (3) charity and we help our nation's combat- wounded Purple Heart recipients by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities. Hunting and fishing serves as an attractor. And, I really think that there's something primitive and connected to our human psyche and our well-being that has restorative and healing properties.

And, then on top of that we start having these layers. Connecting them with each other, connecting them with the great outdoors and people who care. It's amazing to see a guy come here in one place in his life and leave in a different place. It's part of the whole healing process that the Wounded Warriors in Action is doing.

We are sharing our passion.

And, hopefully, it will make a lasting impact in these folks lives who have given so much for our country.
