DHS Message of Support

A Message from Deputy Secretary John Tien Kicking Off the 2021 Combined Federal Campaign

Giving back to our country and our communities is the beating heart of public service - one of the driving forces behind why we show up for work every day. We go above and beyond the call of duty to pursue our Department's mission, and for the past 60 years, we have had the opportunity to do even more through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).

This effort is always important, but in the face of an ongoing pandemic and in the shadow of so much economic hardship, CFC has never been more vital. This is our chance to take part in one of the most successful and far-reaching charitable campaigns anywhere and make a difference in our neighborhoods, across our Nation, and around the world.

DHS is a long-standing leader in the CFC community, contributing more than $6 million last year alone - and as your Vice Chairperson for 2021, alongside our Honorary Chairperson Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas, I have no doubt we can surpass our goals once again.

We invite all of you to join us in giving what you can or volunteering your time with some of the thousands of charities and non-profit groups participating. Whether you have contributed in the past or this is your first time taking part, I encourage you to step up to the plate. Doing so is simple and easy. In the coming days, you will hear more from your Component CFC campaign manager and key colleagues. Or you can pledge today at GiveCFC.org.

Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication every day.

John Tien
Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security

With honor and integrity, we will safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.
