Don't let your CFC Participation be a secret! There are millions of Federal employees and retirees out there who can give to your organization through the CFC.
Market Your Involvement
- Put your 5-digit CFC number everywhere: on your website, newsletters, social media, promotional items, advertisements, etc.
- Use the CFC Logo and the GIVE HAPPY stacked mark or the GIVE HAPPY horizontal mark (when appropriate) to co-brand with the CFC on your materials and social media. If you want to align with the CFC theme, check our Identity Guidelines.
- Include the CFC's QR code on posters, displays, and handouts you bring to campaign events to encourage donors to access the CFC's online giving system or download the CFC Mobile Giving App.
- Are you doing any advertising this year? Include a blurb with your CFC number to capture the Federal audience.
Reach Out Through Messaging
- Be sure to ask your supporters to support you through the Federal government's workplace giving campaign. For example: "Are you a Federal employee or retiree? Then GIVE HAPPY to us through the CFC using charity code 12345."
- Use the CFC's Messaging Document to craft web, newsletter, email, and social media messages.
- Remind donors of one of the best parts of the CFC: the ability to give through payroll deduction or retiree annuity, which enables donors to give a little bit each paycheck, adding to a significant contribution over the year. (i.e.: Are you a Federal employee or retiree? Then GIVE HAPPY to us through the CFC using charity code 12345. One of the great benefits of the CFC is that you can give though payroll deduction or through your retiree annuity, giving a little each pay period and supporting our mission all year long."
- Encourage your supporters to advocate for your organization with their co-workers.
Promote Your Volunteer Opportunities
- Identify volunteer opportunities for Federal employees. These can be in-person or virtual. Be ready to talk about them at CFC campaign events.
- Reach out to donors who pledged volunteer hours the previous year (and released their contact information) to invite them to fulfill their volunteer pledge. You can get this information from the CFC Charity Administration Center.
- Produce materials (e.g., a flyer or brochure) or host a webpage about your volunteer programs.
- Consider hosting a volunteer activity or day of service for CFC campaign workers or members of a Federal agency in your area. Have an opportunity, but need help connecting with a Federal agency? Contact us for help.
