Liver Disease:
Liver disease can affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
It is estimated that 1 out of 3 Americans has liver disease, many of whom don’t know it.
Underserved populations are significantly more likely to die from it.
Children are increasingly being diagnosed with liver disease at an alarming rate due to diet and lifestyle.

Background
AASLD Foundation is a non-profit organization that invests in innovative liver research and in the people who study and treat liver diseases.
We fund more liver research than any other medical society in the United States.
More support is needed due to a significant rise in liver diseases over the past decade.
By training more healthcare providers and driving more research to discover new treatments, we will create a brighter, healthier tomorrow for all people with liver diseases.

Purpose
Thanks to the passion and dedication of scientists, clinicians, and supporters AASLD Foundation is advancing patient care and research in liver disease.

Training & Access to Care
There are not enough liver specialists
to take care of liver patients.

Provide Research Funding
Progress can only be made with research – we need to fund more.

Recruit Researchers
We must attract the brightest physicians
& scientists to make new discoveries.

Disseminate Research
To generate ideas, create new collaborations we must share discoveries with the global research community.

Funding the Hepatology Heroes of Tomorrow, Today
“My AASLD Foundation award was pivotal to establishing my independent research program and supported studies to generate preliminary
data for my successful National Institutes of Health R01 application. These awards not only provide research funding support but transcend beyond the financial impact to provide a significant opportunity for professional development and career advancement.”
