Here at Denver Children's Home we treat the WHOLE child not just a component of the challenges that led to them being here. Beginning with education at our on-site, accredited school, The Bansbach Academy, to physical pursuits, to experiential therapies like art - each child is assessed and a comprehensive treatment and education plan is outlined for them. Therapy is interwoven throughout all of our practices and children who experience either our residential, day treatment, school, or intensive in-home programs gain the tools to restore hope and health traumatized children and their families. Most of all, our programs let kids be kids.

We believe if you change the life of a child, you change the world.
Denver Children's Home is the oldest non-profit in the state of Colorado.
Since 1876, we have relied on community support to live our mission and to help children learn to be children and to heal and grow and our population that we specialize in treating is severely traumatized, abused and neglected kids and families with mental health issues.
Denver Children's Home is a placement of last resort.
Kids and families who have no hope - because nothing has worked come here and heal.
We provide trauma-informed care.
We have art therapy, music therapy, yoga...we have therapy dogs, we have equine assisted therapy. We have a horticultural therapy.
Once we can help them calm, their brains work better and they can learn and problem solve and those are skills that they will have for the rest of their lives.
