With a love for animals, Cheryl, a participant in Impact’s Employment Services Program, was already volunteering with PAWS when she started her journey with Impact.
Cheryl connected with Lead Employment Specialist, Marian, in March of 2023. Through assessment tools, Marian and Cheryl identified a career avenue that will lead to long-term success—for Cheryl, that means working with animals.
After 17 years of unemployment while focused on managing her bipolar disorder, Cheryl began as a customer service representative at a veterinary clinic. She is flourishing in her new role and continually asked to take on more responsibility. Her contributions are being recognized—she was named employee of the month within her first 6 months at the clinic!
In her free time, Cheryl is pursuing a vet tech degree—she just completed her first semester!
