Every year, with the support of CFC donations we are able to grant scholarships to individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease. Here are some of their testimonials from our impact:
"This scholarship has saved me a lot of heartache and worry. With the help of this scholarship, I was able to contribute just the amount I needed towards my tuition for the spring 2022 semester. As someone who does not qualify for the Pell grant, I am grateful that I did not have to take any student loans this semester. " -- Karyn M, 2022 Scholarship Recipient
"The aid I received from IMM allowed me to work a few less hours and study a bit more. I was able to go from failing classes and barely making it, due to stress from working too much and not having a great work life balance, to excelling in most of my classes. I finished Fall 2019 with a semester GPA of 3.5 and I was able to make the Dean’s List. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your guys’ help". -- S. Ellington, 2019 Scholarship Recipient
"Receiving this scholarship allowed me to upgrade to a more advanced laptop. For my major, Interior Architecture, the second year in the program is computer based. We learn how to use certain programs that were not compatible with my last laptop. This improvement allowed me to complete my work in my room without interruptions, rather than in the computer lab across campus. I am extremely grateful for the scholarship I have received. Thank You!" -- J. Morman, 2019 Scholarship Recipient
"The aid that I received relieved a lot of unwanted stress off of my shoulders which was most likely one of the main reasons for me not having a lot of pain earlier in the fall 2021 semester.
The scholarship helped me focus more on my studies than the financial part of the school. Receiving the scholarship made me feel more rejuvenated, motivated, and determined to keep pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminology. At the end of the fall 2021 semester, I ended with 4 A’s and 1 B which placed me on the Dean’s List." -- D. Troy, 2021 Scholarship Recipient
