Self-sustainability. It's a huge step in the life of a survivor of sex trafficking.
After months - and sometimes years - of dehumanizing exploitation and forced dependence on their trafficker, a key part of a survivor's healing journey is being able to be fully independent.
Recently we've had the joy of assisting multiple survivors in our program in moving out of transitional housing. They are no longer dependent on someone else for the roof over their head! Another survivor was promoted to a management position at their job AND purchased a car. These are also huge steps for a survivor to become self-sustaining!
