National CASA Association

Shoals CASA are court appointed special advocates who work with local foster children within Lauderdale & Colbert Counties. Our mission is to recruit, train and empower local community members on how to help advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children within the child welfare and juvenile court systems. We are a volunteer organization that values the safety and wellbeing of children who have been through traumatic situations. During the time a child has been placed within foster care he or she may have multiple changes in foster home placements, DHR workers and even changes in schools, however we appoint one CASA to one case. Our CASAs are committed to making sure that the children we serve are not lost in the system and that they have at least one caring adult whom they can trust. It is our goal to help foster children find permanent and safe homes. Helping these children to not feel alone and to break the cycle of abuse they have experienced. Join us in our mission of making a positive impact on the future of children today.
