The charitable cause that I am most passionate about is supporting and empowering women and girls because when women help other women, amazing things can happen. It is essential to unleashing their full potential through education, economic opportunities, and political power. I believe when we invest in women and children, we make a real impact in our communities.
I give through the CFC because I can give more through payroll deduction. Also, I can simply split my donation between all of the charitable causes that I want to support.
My contributions through the CFC help my causes by creating opportunities to improve someone’s life. Also, helping others is extremely empowering.

Veteran Support Organizations because they give me the opportunity to give back to those that served our nation.
I give through the CFC because it has been something I always did throughout my 20 year Marine Corps career.
The contributions I make through CFC go to organizations that are thoroughly vetted and they have a direct impact on Veterans not only in Southern California but nationwide as well.

Veteran causes. One of the times I went home on leave from the military I saw first-hand how CFC charities make a difference. A friend of mine was deployed to the Middle East and was a few weeks out from going home on leave to be there for the birth of his daughter. While out on patrol one day, his vehicle hit an IED and he paid the ultimate price. I was home on leave when news of this was announced. I saw numerous CFC charities make contact with my friends wife and offer support in terms of helping navigate the complex VA system, food, support groups that brought together spouses in similar situations and monetary help. That is when I vowed to always support the CFC.
I can give more throughout the year than by giving a little from every paycheck than if I only did a one time donation.
Contributions end up helping causes in numerous different and important ways. I have personally seen veterans having a very difficult time coping with the stresses that they have had to endure. I have also seen the charities bring veterans together and help give them purpose again. Whether that is through counseling, events that build comradery with other veterans, job placement or giving a veteran the help that allows them to get established and create a new life outside the military. I know personally that I have had friends that would not be here today, or where they are today, if it were not for charities stepping in and providing the positive and sustaining avenues that they provide.
