Erin adopted Mr. Kitty from Charleston Animal Society nearly 10 years ago. One evening, the indoor/outdoor cat didn’t come home. For weeks she put up flyers in her neighborhood, posted on social media, and checked with Charleston Animal Society, Charleston County, South Carolina’s only open-admission animal shelter. Mr. Kitty was nowhere to be found. Then one day, Animal Control Officers brought him into the shelter and he was scanned for a microchip and Erin was called for a tearful reunion.
In 2022, 920 lost animals were reunited with their families through Charleston Animal Society’s team performing 5,520 casework hours to send them home.
We care for upwards of 15,000 injured and homeless animals each year. Our American Animal Hospital Accredited (AAHA) shelter clinic holds the highest standard of medical practice saving the lives of thousands of the injured while preventing animal overpopulation by spaying or neutering nearly 10,000.
Mr. Kitty’s lost and found saga is just one of the many stories of survival and networking that our team performs 7 days a week at Charleston Animal Society! Please help us by supporting our efforts. Give Happy! CFC #81775
