Project SeaWolf Coastal Protection Cascadia CFC #55871. Working to Defend and Preserve our Southern Resident Killer Whale Population WINTER 2024.
Project SeaWolf is an all-volunteer, non-profit ecosystem protection group focused on preserving and encouraging active stewardship of marine wildlife in the Pacific Northwest.
We were founded in December 1997 and our major projects included; Leading the effort to obtain Federal Endangered Species Status for the Southern Resident Orca Whale population; Leading the rescue capture/relocation/release of ‘Springer’, the orphaned orca calf found in Puget Sound in 2003; SeaWolf co-produced Seattle’s orca whale documentary films on KING, KIRO, KOMO and Q13
We conduct field patrols, youth tree planting programs, support of federal and other non-profit research, rescue/stranding support, and public education/outreach campaigns related to ecosystem protection, stewardship, and enhancement. Our budget (under $6K/annually) puts almost 98% of all donations directly our operations expenses. SeaWolf is a Guidestar ‘Platinum Seal’ recipient; we strive to remain transparent and accountable to our donors. SeaWolf has proudly been part of the CFC since 2007!
